apl LTwo® features in the ‘Litter2Light’ Project.

Around 700 students presented their best work at the annual DIA’24 exhibition organized by the Faculty of Design at Wismar University of Applied Sciences. This included a concept called the “Litter2Light” project. Our CEO Dominik Burghaus  took part in the opening event on 5th July in Wismar. The idea behind the ‘Litter2Light’ project, in the Master’s degree program in Architectural Lighting Design, was to recycle and upcycle materials on the one hand. And to design and manufacture luminaires from disposable materials on the other. The project was supervised by Prof Michael Rohde and workshop manager Bipin Rao from the Faculty of Design at Wismar University of Applied Sciences. apl AG supported the project actively using the new patented magnetic socket system and accessories in the assembly. The students were provided with the light source around which they had to design a luminaire made of ‘litter’.

A big thank you from apl AG

It was great fun to follow the international students’ original ideas from first drafts to final product. The creativity with which the apl LTwo® can be used to create luminaires from the simplest, even recycled materials was impressively presented to us. We found the annual DIA’24 exhibition to be a great platform for dialogue, a meeting place, and for teachers and students to get to know each other. We wish all the students involved in the ‘Litter2Light’ project continued success in their studies.
