Sustainability
Our journey to Net Zero
The Architectural FX team has always been passionate about sustainability and actively conscious when making decisions.
We have made some significant ‘wins’ on the sustainability journey so far through the adoption of the following. However, we are nowhere near finished.
Circularity
TM66
Architectural FX are moving forward in our goal to make all products TM66 compliant. With our recent membership of the Lighting Industry Association (LIA) we are joining their TM66 Assured Product Verification Scheme, also supported by CIBSE.
We also have our Integrate product range and APL completely TM66 certified. click here to view our certificate.

TM65.2
A model which assesses embodied carbon in lighting products.
We are actively researching both company and product certifications and what will suit our company and culture, whilst aligning with ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) frameworks. ESG factors are increasingly considered by investors and other stakeholders when evaluating a company’s overall performance.

ISO 9001 & 14001
In September 2020 we were successfully audited by BSI and certified according to ISO 9001: 2015
The certification relates to the scope of the management system: The import of lighting components from various manufacturing facilities worldwide to form part of a finished lighting fixture solution, produced, assembled, marketed, and sold within the UK and the international construction industry.

Company and Product certification
Company Certification
We are considering the adoption of B Corp currently. B Corp creates a passion amongst the companies who have signed up to it and does not just place a higher importance on our environmental footprint but also focuses on creating stronger economic resilience. Importantly it also aligns with and can be considered a form of ESG reporting. We will keep you updated on progress.
Product Certification
We are in the process of appointing a partner to work with on the creation of EPDs. (Environmental Product Declarations). An EPD is a standardised document that details a product’s environmental and human health impact. It is normally provided by the manufacturer, is 3rd party verified, and based on the ISO 14025 standard. Currently EPDs are not a legal requirement but are being driven by the market and regulations like the EPBD (Energy Performance of Buildings Directive) and the Construction Products Regulation.
Marketplace
Our team have created ‘Architectural FX MarketPlace’ as a not-for-profit portal, to offer an opportunity to resell and repurpose second-hand lighting and hardware to provide a sustainable alternative to the premature recycling or disposal of products.
This portal has been designed to be simple and easy-to-use for both buyers and sellers with the hope
that it will encourage users from all sectors to make use of this platform. Our sustainable
responsibility does not end once the products have been delivered.
