- What attracted you to the lighting profession?
When I was looking for a new job Architectural FX was recruiting. The company and the job advised was exactly what I was looking for.
It was meant to be.
- How did you become involved with Architectural FX?
Same as above right place right time.
I have been working with Architectural FX for 6 ½ years. It’s a lovely company to work for.
- For you, what is the most exciting aspect of working in lighting?
I process all the orders that come in. It’s great to see the end results once the project has been completed.
One of my favourites is Burlington Arcade. I went to see this when the project was complete. It looked amazing and I was very proud to work for the company that made the lights.
- What for you is the most frustrating aspect of working in the lighting industry?
I don’t really get frustrated. I am always happy.
- Is there a person who has had a big influence on you in business and influenced your success?
My family had a big influence on me. Especially my husband Chris. He has always worked so hard and has encouraged me to set high standards for myself.
- Could you list the top 5 reasons why you love your job?
I love being part of the team. We have a great mix of characters here and we all work well together.
I am very organised and love that when we were working towards ISO 9001 & ISO 14001, my organisational skills were unleashed. It was a challenging but rewarding process. I was very proud when we sailed through the accreditations.
I love the stability and security my job provides, allowing me to focus on doing my best work.
I love being someone others can count on to get the job done.
I really enjoy the job I do. Which is always a bonus.
- Could you sum up in a one sentence ‘#mylightingpassion’
I find myself looking at lights everywhere I go. There are so many things you can do to change the mood atmosphere of the environment. For me my passion is the colourful lighting.
- Can you tell us something about yourself that not many people know?
I am looking forward to getting a puppy soon. Can’t say that not many people know, because I think I may have told everyone. I am very excited.
I am going to get a Poochon which is a mix of Bichon Frisé and a Poodle.
